Russian born Mikhail Kalashinkov was a self taught tank engineer. He invented the Kalashinkov aka AK47 in 1946 for no other reason then to protect his mother land, Kalashinkow once said " I invented it for protection of the motherland. I have no regrets and bear no responsibility for how politicans have used it."
I was probably born with some designing abilities.
I do not consider the AK to be the best-ever assault rifle.
Life is composed of different inventions.
Mikhail Kalashnikov died on the 23rd of december 2013. Before his death at the age of 94, Kalashinkove wrote a letter saying he "feared he was to blame" for the untold millions it had been used against. Kalashinkov never made any money from the rifle and also said in his later years "I would have been better off designing a lawnmower"
As a patriarch of the Russian church said the designer felt of guilt and "spiritual pain" towards the end of his life.
Kalashinkov once saying he was not to blame, said "The longer I live, the more question drills itself into my brain and the more I wonder why the Lord allowed man to have devilish desires of envy, greed and aggression".
The AK47 is actually made up of a lot of components, here are 10 major parts that create the AK47 assault rifle. Click through the tabs and see what goes into making the AK47.
The buttstock is used which is also know as a shoulder stock to which the barrel and firing mechanism are attached and help against one's shoulder when firing a gun.
The pistol grip is a portion of the mechanism that is held by the hand and orients the hand in a forward position. The pistol grip is generally used by the hand that operates the trigger.
The cocking handle, also known as charging handle or bolt handle, is a device on a firearm which, when operated, results in the hammer or striker being cocked or moved to the ready position. It allows the operator to pull the bolt to the rear.
A trigger is a mechanism that actuates the firing sequence of a firearm, A small amount of energy applied to the trigger causes the release of much more energy.
A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device within or attached to a repeating firearm. Magazines can be removable (detachable) or integral to the firearm. The bullet size is 7.62×39mm.
A handguard on firearms is a guard attached to the front of a firearm to grip the weapon from the front. It allows the user protection from the barrel, which may become very hot when firing.
The rear sight is a part of a gun or firearm used for aiming it. It is usually located towards the rear of the gun, and it's used together with a front sight. Without a rear sight, a front sight is almost worthless in most cases - but in a pinch.
A gun barrel is the tube, usually metal, through which a deflagration or rapid expansion of gases are released in order to propel a projectile out of the end at a high velocity. Barrels are part of firearms and artillery pieces.
A flash suppressor, also known as a flash guard, flash eliminator, flash hider, or flash cone, is a device attached to the muzzle of a rifle that reduces its visible signature while firing by cooling or dispersing the burning gases that exit the muzzle
The front sight is a part of a gun used for aiming, and it's usually located near the gun's muzzle (front end of barrel). It is a critical part of any non-optical sighting system on a firearm.
